KRIEGSMARINE SEXTANT BY PLATH HAMBURG 1940

Kriegsmarine sextant of Plath in a ladder frame of black coated aluminum, numbered 1950 on the arm and 17562 to the arc.
Index arm with micrometer wheel, Kriegsmarine logo, clearly engraved is the German eagle clutching
an orb of the world with swastika.
The sextant is equipped with:
Scale of-5 ° to 130 ° degrees
Two mirrors
Four colored Sun glasses
Three horizon glasses
Telescope
The case contains a patch to clean the optics, 1 extra moon lens for the telescope and a mirror adjusting tool.
Beautiful clear scale and good telescope, on the scale the logo of Plath "the Sun-Shooter"
and the inscription D.S: Deutsche Seewarte ( examined at The German Naval Observatory in Hamburg)
The instrument is also approved at last at 10th Juni 1940 in Hamburg.
The instrument and test certificate have matching numbers!
Included is an original customs invoice, from June 1946 to enter the instrument in the United States.

Handle of Bakelite with again the commercial logo of "the Sun-Shooter".
The original pine wood case with Plath trade logo on the inside and around the keyhole.
The instrument is very well preserved.
There are no chips to the enamel and the shades and mirrors are perfect.
Size case: 31 x 31 x 17 cm
Excellent condition.
