18TH CENTURY CARDBOARD & VELLUM VENITIAN TELESCOPE

Telescope consisting of four parts.  
The first tube part is made of cardboard with colourful orange paper.  
This orange tube has 18th century decorations of floral patterns.  
The three retractable tube parts are made of cardboard with cream-coloured vellum.  
On the tube parts stop lines are applied to mark the optimum working length:
closed 24 cm (9.5 inches), opened 66 cm (26 inches).
The telescope is equipped with horn frames and a sealable brass eyepiece.  
The object tube is 1.5 inches in diameter and can be closed with a brass lid.
Made around 1760 by Leonardo Semitecolo of Venice.  
Signed on the largest tube in an oval tablet: Leonardo Semitecolo.  
Nice clear optics, comes complete with all lenses.  
A very fine telescope of excellent quality.  
Hardly any traces of wear.
