Very nice tiller head of a lady used as decoration of the helm.
Original polychrome with light traces of age crackle.
Nicely detailed head with refined appearance.
Hair style executed in long curls, traditional cap decorated all round with leaf and flower motives.

History:
Rudder head hailing from the 18th century boeier boat Annie that had Haarlem as its home port.
The Annie was built in the18th century, initially for fishing purposes,
later turned round to a luxury sailing yacht.
Largely burnt on the Buiten IJ near Schellingwoude in august 1933 after the kerosene stove caught fire.
SOLD TO FRANCE
