German W.W.2 Kriegsmarine chronometer with serial number 4371.
Specially made for the Kriegsmarine and delivered in September 1944.
Very handsome mahogany wood box with piano hinge and dismountable pen, the box and clock are in mint condition!
At the front of the box there is a plate with Marine number M. 3863.
The clock sits in a bowl of black Bakelite and rests in a gimbaled ring.
The bottom of the Bakelite bowl is cast iron, punched in is a German eagle and Marine number M. 3863.
Box and clock have matching numbers!
Clock-face with Arabic numerals, second-hand, and a day indicator from 0 to 56 hours.
This clock runs for ca .2½ days, and shows on the clock-face for how long it will run before it has to be wound up.
This was important because the clock was never allowed to stop!
Perfect working order, the clock runs nice and smooth and on time (power reserve 58 hours).
Original wind-up key is present!
