History
Master watchmaker and chronometer maker Schnoor started in 1866 in Kiel.
From 1878 he took part in chronometer tests and worked approx. 24 year for the Imperial marine, ended in 1902,
The Kaiserliche Marine was founded in 1871.
This very early marine clock was made between 1883 and 1885 and has a low marine inventory number: 168.
Dating based on the trade logo on the hour work "winged hourglass above a globe'' 1883-1885 this trade logo was only used for 2 years.
The clock is now approx. 141 years old, in top condition and still runs and on time.
A well maintained piece, last check up by the official clockmaker was 10-2024.
Movement: Gustav Becker Freyberg Silesia.
The clock has quite a history behind it; it has been used before, and in two world wars, and it survived!
You can rightly call these clocks the Rolex among clocks, these clocks are incredibly solid.
This clock does not have an eight-day movement like most ship clocks today, but this clock has a fourteen day movement!
A rich piece of history to own with honest rich patina that has been built up over the years, a pleasure to look at and listen to.
